Studio Workshops
Max utilizes his 20+ years as an arts educator to create workshop curriculums geared toward skill development and open-ended approaches to working with mixed media 2D art, found object ex-votos, watercolor, and beginning drawing. An award winning instructor, his teaching style is organized, attuned, fun and irreverent, and encouraging. Workshop series take place both in person in his private studio as well as virtually.
On-site Workshops & Retreats
Max is available for retreats, conferences, and congregational workshops with an emphasis on art for spiritual care and renewal, as well as Sacred texts and art. These workshops are more process oriented with a focus on art as vehicle for spiritual inquiry and integration, and prophetic imagining. Well suited for a wide variety of art comfort levels—from no art background to highly skilled, they can be adapted to meet your institutional goals and needs.
Worship Space Commissions
Max creates art for churches and other spiritually oriented spaces. Familiar and comfortable working with a wide variety of faiths, he can work with individuals and organizations to create hand-painted stoles, paraments, and sanctuary art.
